Bill Martin
Bill Martin Jr. (William Ivan Martin Jr.) was an American educator, author, and publishing executive who wrote over 300 children's books, including classics like Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? (1967, illustrated by Eric Carle) and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (co-authored with John Archambault). A Kansas native, he earned degrees in education, taught, served as a principal, developed reading programs, and lived his final years in Commerce, Texas, collaborating with Michael Sampson until his death in 2004.
