Betty Waterton
Betty Waterton was a Canadian children's author born in Oshawa, Ontario, in 1923, known for writing nineteen books including the Quincy Rumpel novels, picture books like A Salmon for Simon, and Pettranella.[1][2][4] A seventh-generation Canadian, she crafted stories often set in the Canadian West and Northwest Coast, blending environmental themes with evocative narratives.[2][3][6] She passed away on August 7, 2012.[2][5]
