Beryl Matthews

Beryl Matthews was born in London and grew up during World War II in a family of avid readers. After working in an aircraft factory and other jobs, she joined a writers' group in retirement and published her debut novel, The Open Door, at age 71, going on to write over twenty historical novels. She now lives in a small village in Hampshire, England, with hobbies including travelling, swimming, and golf.
