Bertrice Small

Bertrice Small (1937-2015) was an acclaimed American author of over 50 historical and erotic romance novels, including the beloved O'Malley Saga and Border Chronicles series. Born in Manhattan, New York, she began her writing career in 1969 after working in advertising and owning a gift shop, becoming one of the pioneering 'Avon Ladies' who revolutionized the romance genre with bold, independent heroines. A New York Times bestseller, she received numerous awards such as the RWA Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award before passing away at age 77.
