Bernhard Welz

Bernhard Welz was a German chemist and university professor who was a driving figure in the development of atomic absorption spectrometry. He spent the last 20 years of his life in Brazil, where he served as a professor at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and conducted research in atomic absorption spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and their applications to environmental and oil and coal analysis.
