Bernardin

Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre (1737–1814) was a French writer and botanist best known for his sentimental novel Paul et Virginie, a highly popular work of 18th-century French literature. He was also a notable figure of the late French Enlightenment and wrote on nature, travel, and moral philosophy.
