Bernard J Weiss

Bernard Weiss (1925–2018) was a pioneering researcher in environmental health sciences who applied the experimental analysis of behavior to detect subtle nervous system effects from environmental contaminants. His work contributed significantly to public health achievements, including the removal of lead from gasoline, and advanced behavioral toxicology through microanalyses of behavior using tools like the LINC computer. He emphasized the power of small-N experimental designs and schedule-controlled behavior to reveal disruptions caused by drugs and toxins.
