Benjamin Silliman

Benjamin Silliman was an American chemist and science educator who served as the first science professor at Yale University and pioneered fractional distillation in America. He founded the American Journal of Science, the oldest continuously published scientific journal in the United States, and significantly influenced the development of science in the country.
