Benjamin Apthorp Gould

Benjamin Apthorp Gould was a pioneering American astronomer known for founding and editing the Astronomical Journal and for his major work mapping the southern skies. He also helped establish scientific institutions in the United States and Argentina, including the Argentine National Observatory and the Argentine National Weather Service.
