Benedito P. F. Braga Jr. is a Brazilian civil engineer and professor emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of São Paulo (POLI-USP), with an M.Sc. in Hydrology and Ph.D. in Water Resources from Stanford University. He has held key leadership roles including Director of Brazil's National Water Agency (ANA) from 2000 to 2009, Secretary of Sanitation and Water Resources for the State of São Paulo from 2015 to 2018, and CEO of SABESP from 2019 to 2023. Currently, he serves as Honorary President of the World Water Council and President of the Latin American Water Council, contributing to global water policy and forums, and is associated with the Gulbenkian Think Tank on Water and the Future of Humanity.
