Barbara T. Engel

Barbara Alpern Engel is Distinguished Professor Emerita of History at the University of Colorado Boulder and an author and editor specializing in Russian history, especially women’s history and social history. Her books include Women in Russia: 1700-2000, Breaking the Ties that Bound, and Russia in World History (with Janet Martin).
