Barbara Park
Barbara Lynne Park (née Tidswell) was an American author of children's books, best known for the Junie B. Jones series of chapter books.[1][3] Born in Mount Holly, New Jersey, on April 21, 1947, she earned a degree in secondary education from the University of Alabama but pursued writing instead, producing over 40 books including Skinnybones and Mick Harte Was Here.[2][1] She passed away on November 15, 2013, after battling ovarian cancer, and was noted for her charitable work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and her organization Sisters in Survival.[2]
