Barbara Comyns

Barbara Comyns (born Barbara Irene Veronica Bayley) was an English writer and artist known for her original, darkly comic novels and distinctive visual style. Her first novel, "Sisters by a River," appeared in 1947, and she remained admired for works such as "Our Spoons Came from Woolworths" and "The Vet's Daughter."
