B. H. Humble

Benjamin Hutchison Humble MBE (1903-1977) was a prolific Scottish author, noted climber, and pioneer of Scottish Mountain Rescue, credited with creating modern mountain rescue teams. Born in Dumbarton, he lived in Arrochar from 1960 to 1970, where he also pursued photography and filmmaking. He authored books on Scottish hills and mountaineering, including 'On Scottish Hills'.
