Averroes

Averroes, also known as Ibn Rushd, was a 12th-century Andalusian philosopher, jurist, and physician from Córdoba. He is best known for his extensive commentaries on Aristotle and for defending the compatibility of philosophy and Islamic religious thought, which made him highly influential in both the Islamic world and medieval Europe.
