Arun Kumar
Arun Kumar is a renowned Indian economist and leading authority on the black economy, having written, studied, and lectured on the subject for nearly four decades. Educated at Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and Princeton University, he taught economics at JNU for three decades before retiring in 2015 and now serves as the Malcolm Adiseshiah Chair Professor at the Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi. His focus areas include public finance, development economics, public policy, and macroeconomics, with works published widely in academic journals and popular press, including books like 'Indian Economy’s Greatest Crisis' and 'Indian Economy since Independence'.
