Arthur Raistrick

Arthur Raistrick (16 August 1896 – 9 April 1991) was a British geologist, archaeologist, academic, and writer born in Saltaire, Yorkshire, who published over 330 scholarly articles and books. He is credited with founding Industrial Archaeology as an academic discipline and was a key figure in the establishment of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Raistrick was a multi-talented scholar known for his work in palynology, landscape history, and his advocacy for countryside preservation.
