Arthur Machen
Arthur Machen (1863-1947) was a Welsh author and mystic best known for his supernatural and horror fiction. His novella The Great God Pan (1894) has been called by Stephen King 'maybe the best [horror story] in the English language.' He is also famous for 'The Bowmen' (1914), a short story mistaken for fact that spawned the World War I legend of the Angels of Mons.
