Arthur Levitt Jr. is an American businessman and former chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He served as the 25th Chairman of the SEC from 1993 to 2001, making him the longest-serving chairman in the agency's history. Before his government service, Levitt had a distinguished career in the financial industry.
