Arthur C Clarke
Sir Arthur C. Clarke (1917–2008) was an English science fiction writer, futurist, and inventor best known for his novel and screenplay for 2001: A Space Odyssey, co-written with Stanley Kubrick. He served as a radar specialist in the RAF during World War II, earned a degree in Physics and Mathematics from King's College London in 1948, and moved to Sri Lanka in 1956 where he lived until his death, pursuing interests in underwater exploration and space advocacy.
