Art Manteris

Art Manteris is a legendary Las Vegas bookmaker and author, born in 1956 in a Pittsburgh suburb, who moved to Las Vegas in late 1978 and began his career at the Stardust casino.[1][4] He became one of the youngest sportsbook directors at Caesars Palace in the mid-1980s, later served as vice president at the Las Vegas Hilton where he designed the modern theatre-style sportsbook, and managed sportsbooks at Station Casinos for 20 years.[1][4][5] Manteris authored the memoir 'The Bookie: How I Bet It All on Sports Gambling and Watched an Industry Explode' with Matt Birkbeck, chronicling his four-decade career amid mob influences and the sports betting evolution, and he has been inducted into the SBC Sports Betting Hall of Fame.[2][4]
