Arshay Cooper
Arshay Cooper grew up on Chicago’s West Side amid gang violence and his mother's drug addiction, later joining the first all-Black high school rowing team at Manley High School in 1997, which transformed his life. He authored the award-winning memoir 'A Most Beautiful Thing,' adapted into a 2020 film narrated by Common and produced by Grant Hill and Dwyane Wade. Now a speaker, activist, and advocate, he inspires youth through rowing programs and personal empowerment stories.[1][3][4]
