Arnold T. Schwab
Arnold T. Schwab (1922-2014) was an American poet, literary scholar, and Professor Emeritus of English at California State University, Long Beach, where he established an endowment in 1995 for acquiring books with gay themes, particularly poetry and fiction from non-mainstream publishers. He earned his B.A. from UCLA and M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University, and was a dedicated chronicler of Edward and Marian MacDowell, collecting extensive archives for a planned biography of Marian and making significant bequests to institutions like the MacDowell Colony. His scholarly work included publications on literary figures and historical research into the MacDowell legacy.
