Archestratus

Archestratus was an ancient Greek poet from Syracuse or Gela, active in the 4th century BCE. He is best known for his didactic poem 'Hedypatheia' (The Life of Luxury), a humorous gastronomic guide to Mediterranean cuisine and ingredients. His work survives only in fragments, quoted by later authors like Athenaeus.
