Anthony Powell
Anthony Dymoke Powell (1905–2000) was an English novelist best known for his twelve-volume series A Dance to the Music of Time, published between 1951 and 1975, one of the longest novels in English. Born in London to an upper-middle-class family with a military father, he was educated at Eton and Oxford, where he mingled with literary figures like Evelyn Waugh. His works explore upper-middle-class life, high society, and historical events from the interwar period through the mid-20th century.
