Anthony Jacks

Anthony Abraham Jack is a sociologist and associate professor of higher education leadership at Boston University, where he serves as the inaugural faculty director of the Newbury Center. Born in Miami, Florida, he graduated from Amherst College in 2007 as a first-generation college student and earned his PhD in Sociology from Harvard University in 2016. His research examines inequality in higher education, particularly among lower-income students, and he is the author of 'The Privileged Poor: How Elite Colleges Are Failing Disadvantaged Students.'
