Anthony Burgess

Anthony Burgess (1917–1993) was an English novelist, critic, composer, and linguist renowned for his controversial and stylistically inventive novel 'A Clockwork Orange,' which explores themes of violence and free will through its unique 'Nadsat' slang. Born in Manchester and later working as an education commissioner in Malaya, Burgess authored over sixty works spanning fiction, drama, essays, and music, blending wit, moral earnestness, and the bizarre in his literary explorations.
