Annie B Sullivan
Anne Sullivan (born Johanna Mansfield Sullivan) was an American teacher best known as the lifelong instructor and companion of Helen Keller, widely celebrated for successfully educating a person without sight, hearing, or normal speech. She contracted trachoma at age five, which left her partially blind and without reading or writing skills, yet she persevered to break stereotypes against the disabled. Sullivan was born on April 14, 1866, in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, and died on October 20, 1936, in Forest Hills, New York.
