Anne Wagner
Anne Middleton Wagner is an influential art historian specializing in modern and contemporary art, particularly sculpture, gender issues, and 19th-20th century works. She served as Class of 1936 Professor Emerita at the University of California, Berkeley, retiring in 2010, and has held positions including Visiting Professor at the Courtauld Institute of Art and Henry Moore Foundation Research Curator at Tate Britain. Her notable books include 'Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux: Sculptor of the Second Empire' (1986), 'Three Artists (Three Women)' (1996), and 'Brave New Womb: Modernist Maternity and British Sculpture'.
