Anne Marie Louise de Montpensier

Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans, known as the Grande Mademoiselle and duchesse de Montpensier, was a prominent French princess, granddaughter of Henry IV and first cousin of Louis XIV, born in 1627 at the Louvre Palace. She played a key role in the Fronde rebellions, commanding troops and firing the Bastille cannons to aid the Prince de Condé in 1652, and later authored influential Mémoires chronicling court life. Exiled multiple times for her political actions, she inherited vast wealth, including the principality of Dombes, and spent her later years in devotion after a failed marriage attempt.[1][2][3]
