Anne Kingsmill Finch

Anne Kingsmill Finch, Countess of Winchilsea (1661–1720), was one of the foremost English women poets of the late 17th and early 18th centuries, known for her work in fables, odes, songs, religious verse, pastorals, and occasional poems.[1][3][6] Born in Sydmonton, England, she served as a maid of honor at the Stuart court before marrying Heneage Finch in 1684, becoming Countess upon his inheritance in 1712, and maintained Jacobite sympathies throughout her life.[1][4][5]
