Anne Haas Dyson
Anne Haas Dyson is a professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in early childhood literacies, pedagogy, and diverse childhoods through ethnographic research on children's writing and cultures.[2][7] A former teacher of young children beginning in the early 1970s, including Mexican American children in El Paso and bilingual first graders, she previously held positions at Michigan State University and the University of California, Berkeley, where she received the Distinguished Teaching Award.[2][3] She is a fellow of the American Educational Research Association and has authored award-winning books such as Writing Superheroes (1997), ReWRITING the Basics (2013), and Writing the School House Blues (2021).[1][5]
