Ann Woodward

Ann Woodward was an American socialite best known for the 1943 shooting death of her husband, banker William Woodward Jr., which she said was a case of mistaken identity and for which she was never charged. She was born in Kansas in 1915 and died by suicide in 1975 amid renewed public scrutiny of her life and the Capote-related scandal surrounding her reputation.
