Anita Shreve

Anita Shreve (1946-2018) was an American author best known for her novels exploring themes of marriage, adultery, and personal relationships, with works like The Pilot's Wife and The Weight of Water becoming bestsellers and adapted into films. She began her career as a high school teacher and journalist, winning an O. Henry Prize for her 1975 short story 'Past the Island, Drifting,' before publishing her debut novel Eden Close in 1989 and transitioning to full-time fiction writing.[1][2][3]
