Andy Weir

Andy Weir is an American novelist born on June 16, 1972, in Davis, California, best known for his debut novel The Martian (2011), which was adapted into a successful 2015 film directed by Ridley Scott. A former software engineer for two decades, he transitioned to full-time writing after The Martian's success and is a lifelong enthusiast of space-related topics like relativistic physics and orbital mechanics. His subsequent works include Artemis (2017) and Project Hail Mary (2021), the latter a finalist for the 2022 Hugo Award for Best Novel and adapted into a film released in March 2026.
