Andrew Lock

Andrew James Lock OAM (born 26 December 1961) is an Australian mountaineer who became the first and only Australian to climb all 14 eight-thousanders, achieving this feat on 2 October 2009 as the 18th person worldwide, with 13 summits without supplemental oxygen. He has authored books including 'SUMMIT 8000' (2014) and 'MASTER OF THIN AIR' (2015), detailing his high-altitude expeditions, and retired from eight-thousander climbing in 2012. Lock has summited Mount Everest three times and achieved several Australian firsts on other 8000m peaks.
