Andrew Lang
Andrew Lang (1844–1912) was a prolific Scottish poet, novelist, literary critic, anthropologist, and journalist, best known for collecting and editing fairy tales in his famous 'Coloured Fairy Books' series. Educated at the University of St Andrews, University of Glasgow, and Balliol College, Oxford, he became a fellow at Merton College before moving to London to pursue journalism and writing. His diverse works included translations of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, studies on folklore and mythology, and contributions to psychical research.
