Andrew Johnson
Andrew Johnson (1808–1875) was the 17th president of the United States, serving from 1865 to 1869 after assuming office following the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, he rose from poverty as a tailor to become a prominent War Democrat who championed the common man and was the first U.S. president to be impeached by Congress[1][4].
