Andrew Garve

Andrew Garve was the pen name of Paul Winterton (1908-2001), a British journalist and novelist born in Leicester. He worked as a foreign correspondent for The Economist and the News Chronicle, including assignments in Moscow during World War II, which informed much of his later fiction. After 1950, he became known for writing over forty detective and adventure novels, many with exotic settings, and was a founder member and first joint secretary of the Crime Writers' Association.
