Andrew Clements
Andrew Clements was an acclaimed American author of children's literature, best known for his debut novel Frindle, published in 1996, which won numerous awards including 16 state book awards and the Christopher Award. Born in Camden, New Jersey, he studied literature at Northwestern University, earned a Master's in Teaching, worked in publishing, and later wrote over 80 books for young readers before moving to Maine to focus on writing full-time. Clements passed away in 2019, leaving a legacy of school-themed stories like Lunch Money and The Report Card that have sold over 10 million copies.
