Andrea L. Smalley

Andrea L. Smalley is an environmental historian and author known for her work on the roles of animals in American history. She is an associate professor at Northern Illinois University and the author of 'The Wild Wild East: An Environmental History of the Animal Encounters in the American West' and the award-winning 'The Sorry Tale of a City of the Sea: The Charleston Earthquake of 1886'. Her research focuses on the intersection of ecology, culture, and human-animal relations in American history.
