Andrea Eschbach

Andreas Eschbach is a German science fiction writer born on September 15, 1959, in Ulm, Germany. He studied aerospace engineering at the University of Stuttgart, worked as a software engineer and IT consultant, and began publishing short stories in the 1980s before transitioning to full-time writing in the 1990s with novels like Die Haarteppichknüpfer (The Carpet Makers).[1][2][5]
