Andre Papineau

André Papineau (1765–1832) was a cooper and political figure in Lower Canada who represented Effingham in the Legislative Assembly from 1827 to 1830. Born in Montreal, he later settled at Saint-Martin, served as a militia lieutenant during the War of 1812, and was the father of André-Benjamin Papineau, who also became a legislator.
