Amy Aldredge

Dr. Amy Aldridge is an accomplished academic leader with over two decades of experience in higher education, currently serving as vice provost for Academic Programs at Middle Tennessee State University since 2022, where she leads curriculum development, general education, academic policy, and related initiatives while also acting as a tenured professor of communication studies.[1] Previously, she held roles such as associate provost at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and department chair at both TAMU-CC and Northeastern State University, and she holds a PhD and MA in communication studies from the University of Iowa, along with an MEd in school administration and a BA in communication education from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma.[1] She grew up on public assistance in a rural town in Northeast Oklahoma and is involved in community organizations including YWCA Corpus Christi and AAUW-Tennessee, with a forthcoming book on nonviolent social change expected in 2026.[1][6]
