Amber McBride
Amber McBride is an award-winning African-American author, poet, professor, herbalist, and folklorist known for her debut novel-in-verse *Me (Moth)*, a National Book Award finalist and winner of the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe Award. Raised in a military family across various locations including Northern Virginia, Germany, and California, she holds an MFA in poetry from Emerson College and has taught English at institutions like the University of Virginia. Her works, including *Gone Wolf* and *Magic Hoodoo Child*, often explore themes of Black identity, generational trauma, Hoodoo traditions, and healing through storytelling.
