Allen J. Bard

Allen J. Bard (1933–2024) was an American chemist renowned as the father of modern electrochemistry, who spent nearly 65 years on the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin after earning his PhD from Harvard University. He pioneered innovations including the scanning electrochemical microscope, co-discovered electrochemiluminescence, and advanced photoelectrochemistry, authoring over 1,000 papers and the seminal textbook 'Electrochemical Methods – Fundamentals and Applications.'
