Allan Massie
Allan Johnstone Massie CBE FRSL FRSE (1938–2026) was a Scottish journalist, columnist, sports writer, and prolific author of over 25 novels, including historical fiction about Roman emperors and other figures, as well as non-fiction on rugby, history, and literary criticism. Born in Singapore where his father was a rubber planter, he was educated in Aberdeenshire, attended Glenalmond College and Trinity College, Cambridge, and wrote for newspapers like The Scotsman for 50 years, The Sunday Times, and others.[1][2][4]
