Allan Ahlberg
Allan Ahlberg was a prolific British children's author who wrote over 140 books, many illustrated by his wife Janet Ahlberg until her death in 1994. Born in Croydon in 1938 and adopted as a child, he worked as a postman, gravedigger, and teacher before becoming a celebrated writer known for gentle humor in books enjoyed by both children and adults. His works, including The Jolly Postman and Peepo!, won numerous awards and have sold millions of copies worldwide.
