Alice Dreger

Alice Dreger is a professional historian, journalist, writer, and editor specializing in the history of medicine, science, bioethics, and advocacy for people with atypical anatomies and free speech rights.[1][3] A college dropout who earned her Ph.D. in History and Philosophy of Science from Indiana University in 1995, she is the author of books including Galileo's Middle Finger, funded by a Guggenheim Fellowship, and founded the nonprofit local news service East Lansing Info.[1][2][5] She has taught at institutions like Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and received numerous awards for her teaching and journalism.[1][3]
