Alexandre Rodolphe Vinet was a prominent Swiss theologian, moralist, and literary critic who played a key role in establishing the Reformation in French-speaking Switzerland and advocating for the separation of church and state. Born in Ouchy (near Lausanne) in 1797, he became a leading intellectual figure of 19th-century French-speaking Protestantism through his influential writings and philosophical contributions.
